The Brimstone Spider (Arachnid Infernus) is a fierce predator that inhabits desert and volcanic regions in the southern hemisphere of Eschalon.
Behavior[]
A noted feature of the Brimstone Spider is that since their bite lacks a venomous injection, they instead "flash cook" their prey in a sticky, burning mass of webbing. The quick, intense heat melts down body fat and releases fluids from the organs of their victim, which the spider then can drink.
Combat[]
The Brimson Spider attacks with their 6-inch fangs that are capable of piercing plate armor. They protect themselves with a dense exoskeleton and fast reaction time.
Variation[]
Arachnids are fairly common across Eschalon and come in a wide variety of appearances and abilities. Every spider should be treated with caution as none are considered "safe". The toxicity of spider bites vary from species to species and may produce effects such as poisoning, paralysis or even instant death. Before engaging any spider in combat, ensure your resistance levels (elemental, toxins, disease) are as high as possible.
